"Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light."

Individual Therapy

Research on therapeutic outcome shows that the relationship between the therapist and client is the best predictor of positive outcome. For that reason, our therapeutic bond will be of utmost importance. It’s important that you feel understood and safe with me. Safe to go to the places in yourself that perhaps you have not ventured before. Together we will explore what is happening to hold you back from the life you want. Usually unraveling and deconstructing those obstacles will require looking back at your primary attachment relationships and how those bonds formed the ways you relate to yourself and others. Learning new ways to observe your inner life with kindness and non-judgment will facilitate a new wisdom about yourself. Finally, I’ll want to explore what thoughts, feelings and experiences you have in the present moment of therapy. Individual therapy can bring profound freedom for each of us as we uncover our embedded neurology and find new ways of being. I am humbled and inspired as I witness the courage of my clients in this work.

Couples Therapy

While some therapists may feel overwhelmed by the passionate energy that swirls a room when a couple explores their struggles, I feel innately equipped for such work. I deeply enjoy having access to both partners while we untangle the web of emotion that happens in a relationship. According to research, couples wait 6 years too long to enter therapy. Which often means the road back home is more twisted and perilous. Somehow the sum of all my DNA and experiences have uniquely prepared me to articulately and decisively walk alongside these couples to show them the way back to each other.

*Marathon Therapy: I meet with couples who fly in from out of town or who prefer to take an entire day or 2 off work to dedicate a block of hours to intensive therapy.

"We cultivate love when we allow our most vulnerable and powerful selves to be deeply seen and known."

Family Therapy

Parents of Teens: I have a very special love for and understanding of teenagers. Parenting teens can be bewildering and overwhelming. Being a teen can be bewildering and overwhelming. For that reason, I am passionate about working with these parents/families. Often I meet alone with the parents to understand the blocks and help find new ways of parenting to facilitate ongoing respect, closeness, and individuation. Meeting with teens present is also an exciting prospect as we all, together, begin to forge new familial agreements, relationships and narratives.

Adult Children and Parents: Somehow it’s not uncommon for adult children and their parents to struggle to find a new equilibrium that honors the autonomy that comes as children become adults. Numerous parents have flown in from out of town to join their adult children in therapy. This has been some of my favorite work. Deep yearnings for closeness and confusion about how to proceed inevitably bubble up yet, each time we seem to find precious understanding and new agreements. I am deeply honored to witness and facilitate these moments of fear, longing, and love.
