"The important thing is this: To be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become."
Charles Dubois

Professionally, I have been working as a therapist with individuals, couples, and families since 1995. While growing up, I planned to pursue a career in law as a prosecuting attorney seeking justice for victims of crime. After I worked at various internships in private and public law offices, I realized I desired a career that was more grass-roots in its orientation to social change. Specifically, I wanted to work with people to create change in their own lives.

My life’s work has centered in each job around helping people and striving to make the world a better place. I’ve worked as a small business founder/owner, certified cultural intelligence trainer and public speaker, host for a call in radio show, a professor of social sciences, a victim advocate and of course, a licensed mental health counselor. For more information, please see an abbreviated list of my education and experience below.

On a more personal note, I have been deeply blessed with an amazing husband of 20+ years as well as two beautiful children. I am passionate about happy families and committed to helping my clients find ways to create good relationships. I grew up in the Southwest and come from a family of 6 kids; 3 adopted and 3 biological. Needless to say, my childhood was full of love, adversity, and adventure!
